Clashmore Holiday Cottages are set in the spectacular parish of Assynt, set amidst some of the wildest and most remote mountain and coastal scenery. This unspoilt landscape and the slower pace of life makes Assynt ideal for those who enjoy the outdoor life. Clashmore is surrounded by wild brown trout lochs, including one below the cottages. It is also possible to fish for sea trout and salmon in the local area. Boat trips and sea fishing are also popular. Assynt has a Ranger Guided Walks Service, and other community activities and events.
The village of Lochinver is home to the Assynt Visitor Centre and Tourist Office, the local leisure centre and Highland Stoneware. The village also has a number of bars and excellent restaurants, as well as a bank, post office, medical centre, grocery shops, a butchers, a hardware shop, and various gift shops. There is also a bookshop and cafe just south of the village. There is also a seasonal shop in Clachtoll, and shops and a bar in Drumbeg. All are within 10 miles of Clashmore Holiday Cottages.
Whether you intend exploring the remoter corners of the North West Highlands on foot, beach walking, or something more energetic, like climbing, kayaking or other water sports, there is ample opportunity to make the most of every day you spend at Clashmore Holiday Cottages.
